We should call them “friendly” competitions!
Open competitions here at Royal Ashdown are friendly affairs, but that’s not to say there’s not spirited competition taking place!
Ladies Bowmaker Open - Wednesday 7th May 2025
The 2025 Ladies Bowmaker Open will be played on Wednesday 7th May 2025.
Our 2025 Ladies Bowmaker Open requires a team of 3 to play a stableford round with the best 2 scores counting on each hole. The competition will take place over the Old course and will be played from the Red Tees.
The cost of the competition will be £210 per team to include coffee and danish pastries on arrival, a buffet lunch and prizes.
This competition is open to members of a registered golf club with a handicap index of up to 24. Entries will be open on a first come first served basis and the closing date for entries will be on Friday 18th April 2024.

The Winkley Smith Challenge Cup - Sunday 27th July 2025
This competition is open to members of a registered golf club with a handicap index of 5.6 or less. Entries are limited to 39 players and if over subscribed there will be a ballot of the higher handicaps. The closing date for entries will be on Sunday 13th July 2025.

The Roger Le Fleming Salvers Mixed Open - Sunday 10th August 2025
This competition is open to members of a registered golf club with a handicap index of up to 20.8 for gents and 25.1 for ladies. Entries are limited to 40 pairs and if over subscribed there will be a ballot of the higher handicaps. The closing date for entries will be on Sunday 27th July 2025.
